EDIT #2: After rearranging my kitchen so that I can accommodate the toaster oven to a different outlet (no small feat in my Brooklyn Apartment), it appears that separating the oven from the refrigerator did the trick. Fridge now seems unaffected. Which is really good. I can now use this toaster oven. It does cook well and is better constructed than other toaster ovens I inspected at various stores. So, it's a keeper for now....br /br /EDIT: After using this toaster oven several times, it seems to have knocked my refrigerator out temporarily. I surmise that the high wattage with its heating elements constantly turning on and off had shut down the refrigerator's motor/compressor as the oven was probably drawing too much power. This is very disappointing as it cooked good. I immediately disconnected the product. My refrigerator rebooted after about 20 minutes or so. Of course, the temperature in the refrigerator was going up. Luckily the refrigerator has been working properly 24 hours after the shut down.br /br /If you want this oven, don't connect it to the same outlet as your refrigerator! I'll leave my original review in place for now.br /br /_______________________br /br /Living by myself in a Brooklyn apartment means that your big gas oven will heat up the apartment everytime you use it. So, for years now, I've been using toaster ovens to cook just about everything. No sense firing up the big oven for a personal frozen pizza.br /br /I was using a DeLonghi digital toaster oven, but it was too small. It cooked very fast but I needed something a little bigger. br /br /Most of the toaster ovens I inspected at Macy's were poor-quality looking. br /br /Then I saw the Waring Pro. It looked better constructed than most. So, I decided to spend an extra and get this model.br /br /So far, so good. It's my first convection toaster oven. The fan is very quiet. Cook time isn't as fast as the smaller DeLonghi, but it's not really a problem. br /br /Cooking is more even with the Waring Pro. I used to get half my pizza burnt with my previous ovens. So I guess the convection fan does make cooking a little more even.br /br /Construction of this unit is pretty good. The door closes well and opens with no problem. The crumb tray pulls out easily for cleaning. Knobs turn easily. The oven can stay on indefinitely, or it can be set by the timer.br /br /The top and bottom heating elements turn on and off to maintain proper heat. This is also stated in the manual. br /br /As for the manual, its very sparse. My only gripe so far is that the manual should have been more comprehensive with a somewhat higher priced oven like this.br /br /The back of the oven also curves outward to handle a 12" pizza. The size of this oven is really good and can handle most everything you can put in it.br /br /So, hopefully it will serve me well for quite a while.br /br /As for the first review regarding their unit catching fire with pop tarts, please be advised that pop tarts contain an ingredient in its frosting that is very flammable. Homes have been burned down from pop tarts while cooking in toasters! Just google it and see for yourself!

Satisfactory - Karen A. Robinson - Utah
When I first started to look for a replacement for my old (very, very) Black and Decker SpaceSaver toaster oven I had a long list of requirements. As I hadn't shopped for a toaster oven in about 30 years I didn't realize that those stipulations were wildly optimistic. After months of frustrating research (and one very bad purchase), I was left with two show-stopping requirements: no Teflon (or Teflon-like) coating because of the fumes that emits, and an "I am done" sound that didn't shatter my eardrums and cause my dog to run away from home.br /br /The TCO600 meets both of those requirements. There is no Teflon coating - just bare metal. (I would have preferred the old style blue/black enamel like my old toaster oven had and like my real oven has, but, as I said, I gave up on most of my "prefers".) The sound when the timer (60 minute) is complete is one "ding". That I love. br /br /I'm pleased with the unit so far. The convection fan is quiet, the oven heats to the temperature set. I've used it to bake a few things and was satisfied. Haven't yet used the broiler. The toaster is not the most convenient to use, and you cannot choose a setting and leave it there. (One must turn the timer past 20, then turn it to whatever you think might be the right setting for the bread and wait for the timer to turn it off.) The toast was not bad at all.br /br /It is nice looking, chrome front, painted silver metal along the sides and top. That chrome is going to show every fingerprint that touches it, but it's wiped clean easily enough. It does get hot, as toaster ovens do, but it hasn't caused any problems. The crumb tray is very accessible in the front of the unit. I do like the analog dials rather than pushbutton digital stuff.br /br /It's a bigger footprint than I was looking for. My old unit was not called "SpaceSaver" for nothing: it was small outside and huge inside. br /br /I have not had any problems with the oven being on the same circuit as the refrigerator. My house is fairly new, so maybe that makes a difference.br /br /I've had it about two months. So far, so good.br /br /

Cuisinart BRK-100 Brick Oven Classic, Stainless Steel

Cuisinart BRK-100 Brick Oven Classic, Stainless Steel Review

I bought this oven as part of my quest to bake really excellent artisan bread. I must say that the bread I am making now beats anything we have been able to get at the artisan bakeries (except the specialized places in NYC - but I'm working on it). The oven provides the radiant heat environment needed for that great crust. I use the overnight rise method, scoop out some dough when I get home from work and set up some rolls. Pop them in the oven before dinner and have very happy folks around the table.br /br /We have used it for toast, etc., and all comes out well.

Cuisinart BRK-100 Brick Oven Classic, Stainless Steel Feature

  • 1700 watts of power and 500 degree F with industrial styled stainless steel housing.
  • 0.90 cubic feet with brick inserts permanently built into the sides of the oven PLUS a removable baking stone to intensify brick oven cooking
  • Bake, boil, toast with broiling pan and baking tray plus 2 wire racks for multi-level cooking
  • Nonstick coating covers the interior where there are no bricks, to make cleaning easy and quick
  • Tinted glass oven door with silver and black handles
Cuisinart brings a classic approach to modern cooking with a revolutionary new countertop Brick Oven. Genuine bricks inside this restaurant - quality oven allow traditional brick-oven cooking in the comfort of home. Industrial styling and three cooking options make this multifunctional countertop oven a valuable additional to any kitchen.

nice product - Dan - Annapolis, Md.
I guess I just didn't read the description closely. I found this product listed as a convection oven, which it is not. In fact I found it listed today as a convection oven. However that does not detract from its performance as a countertop oven. I used it to bake potatoes and broil tenderloin for the same meal and it did both quite well.

Limited control - Elizabeth P. Barber - Chesapeake, VA
The oven is very handy, but I find it hard to control the temperature. Perhaps it's the size of the oven. Food tends to be over-cooked at the suggested temp.

Black Decker TRO480BS Toast-R-Oven 4-Slice Toaster Oven

Black Decker TRO480BS Toast-R-Oven 4-Slice Toaster Oven Review

Thanks to all the other Reviewers. I read about a number of toaster ovens including much fancier devices selling for more than 0. Reviews and comments are what helped me make the decision to buy this BD model. I wanted something good for toast and bagels and re-heating leftovers. We have a modest size kitchen so I preferred something on the smaller size. We use our microwave more than the toaster oven, but this toaster oven works very well for what it does. It is pretty simple, looks like it should last.br /br /Have been using it about 1 month. It makes much better toast (more evenly toasted over whole piece of bread) and toasted bagels than our pop-up toaster. One negative is that the bottom of the toast has rack marks and can burn a bit on the corner. If you really want perfect toast, flip it over part way through. I have not timed it, but seems to take just a bit longer than our old pop-up toaster. Pop-up toaster is in the bag of donations for Goodwill. br /br /Great for tuna melts. Great for re-heating pizza. I'm very happy with the look and use, and amazed at the low price.

Black Decker TRO480BS Toast-R-Oven 4-Slice Toaster Oven Feature

  • Large-capacity 1200-watt 4-slice toaster oven
  • Bake, broil, bagel, toast, and keep-warm functions
  • Adjustable temperature up to 450 degrees F
  • 30-minute timer; slide-out crumb tray; baking pan included
  • Measures approximately 12-2/5 by 18-8/9 by 15 inches
Breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks, this versatile toaster oven-toasts, cooks, broils and reheats a variety of foods. Enjoy your favorite muffins, individual pizzas, casseroles or small chicken parts-cooked to perfection right on your countertop

At least its inexpensive - Harland Kessaris - White Plains, NY United States
Dial slections are hard to see, it tips easily when you open the toaster door, setting the timer for it to turn off is a clumsy process, timer dial is hard to turn and feels like you're going to break it, not clear where to put the grating when broiling etc.br /br /On the positive side; seems to toast and broil ok and the price was right.

Cooks good, looks good! - Carter F. Sullivan - Louisiana, USA
This toaster oven answers my needs to a T. It's been a long time since I had one I was as satisfied with as this one. Not only has it worked well so far, it is very easy to clean and looks great.
