Hamilton Beach 22560 Extra-Wide Slot Toaster Review
Most of the toasters I have used over the years have failed to toast the bread evenly. This Hamilton Beach Model 22559 does that better than any of the others I have owned. Also, I can use it to toast very lightly bread for sandwiches. I can use bread straight from the freezer, choose the defrost function with a very light setting and achieve the additional "tooth" from a bread that would otherwise be very soft if defrosted in the microwave. For my own entertainment, I can toast a single half of english muffin and stand by to catch it at the end of the cycle. It oftens leaps clear out of the toaster and someimes right on to the waiting plate! I know, some users might not find that to be fun.br /br /This toaster also performs very well with Toastabags to make hot sandwiches and many other hot foods. Go to www.toastabags.com.br /Only one function hasn't worked for me: cancelling a cycle by manually lifting the bread lifter. It doesn't want to move even when lifting firmly. However, I can easily cancell a cycle by pressing the "on/cancel" button.br /br /The chrome finish is easy to clean with a damp cloth followed with a quick dry paper towell polish. This could be the last toaster I buy for a very long time.

Worked well for 6 months - David Evans - Ferndale, MI USA
We bought the Hamilton Beach model 22559 toaster, and it worked well for about 6 months. The price was reasonable, the toaster itself looked good on our counter and produced good toast. The features that we used, such as toasting bagels on one side, performed appropriately. We were happy with our purchase for 6 months until that 'made in China' quality, with which we are all much too familiar, manifested itself. The darkness control stopped functioning, and all toast was uniformly burned to a crisp.br /Perhaps I am living too much in the past, but six months seems a short life span for a toaster - consequently the one star review.
